Description

Technical polymer with an extremely high breaking load in relation to its diameter, up to ten times higher than steel of the same diameter, suitable for tying large streamers where an practically indestructible thread is needed for any type of operation, both for covering and closing. Thanks to its calibrated twist, the fibers remain well joined but still lay down very flat and smooth, creating very uniform and seamless underbodies and heads. Available in both solid black (color that does not fade during use) and natural white, which can be easily colored with a permanent marker. Perfect for pike flies and large flies when strength needs to go hand in hand with the filling properties of the yarn. Being a very slippery polymer, it is recommended to use it in conjunction with cyanoacrylate glue before crucial steps of the fly tying. - 100 meter spool - 150 Denier - Breaking strain of 5.60 kg. - Use of a bobbin with a ceramic tip is recommended

Field Notes

Use this high-strength polymer thread on a fly-tying bobbin to cover and close large streamer underbodies and heads. It’s especially useful when tying pike/large flies that need durability, and it’s recommended to pair it with cyanoacrylate glue for critical steps.

  • Very high breaking load for its diameter
  • Lays flat and smooth for uniform, seamless heads/underbodies
  • Colorfast black option; natural white can be marker-colored
