Description

This gem right here has shot straight to the top of my list of lipless baits! Number one, the Clique Shad color-way on it makes the bait literally come to life! In person this thing just screams bling and iridescence! Sibtke hies of blue, pink, gold, with sharp contrasting blacks that brings in the entire bait fish profile. In the water you'd swearvits the real deal! That brings us to number two, the action! On a straight retrieve it has a moderate rocking action. Couple that with it having a custom painted hard plastic life-like tail attached by a split ring and it adds the perfect touch of realism and bait fish appeal. A slow retrieve is reminiscent of a spybait and with all the benefits that come with - hydrodynamics. This stimulates an interested bass' lateral line and once that's engaged... GAME OVER! But where this bait REALLY excels is utilizing it as a rip bait. You can yo-yo it and solicit strikes on the fall (similar to that of how you would work a spoon) ory personal favorite... Ripping it through submerged grass! It's weighted bulbous belly gives it 3D realism while acting as a keel that keeps the bait centered while ensuring that it runs true with each and every cast. It's the perfect size that targets both numbers AND size! These are just a few examples of how diverse and amazing this bait really is and there's a lot more applications it assuredy excels at... The rest is up to you and your net man!

Field Notes

This is a lipless bait that works well on a straight retrieve, a slow spybait-like retrieve, or ripped/yoyoed through cover. It is especially effective over submerged grass and on the fall when fish are reacting to vibration and flash.

Pros

  • Strong baitfish profile with flashy iridescent finish
  • Versatile retrieve options including ripping and yo-yoing
  • Runs true and stays centered on the cast

Cons

  • Can be less effective without grass or open-water reaction conditions
  • Requires active retrieve to get the best strike response
