Hareline Dubbin

Field Notes

Flash material used in fly tying to add shimmer, movement, and visibility to streamers, saltwater patterns, and other baitfish imitations. It is typically tied in as an accent or wing material to increase flash in clear or stained water.

Pros

  • Adds strong reflective flash to flies
  • Useful for many fly patterns and species
  • Lightweight and easy to tie in

Cons

  • Can be too flashy in very clear or pressured water
  • Primarily a tying material, not a finished fly
