Description

THE PATTERN This is one of the very old classic patterns originating from Colonel Childers, we love the colour combinations over the dubbed brushed body. This translucent, colourful pattern is ideal for waters with a bit of colour. On a sunny day, when the sun shines through that whiskey-coloured water, the Childers is a great fly. We have preserved the original colour concept, enhanced it with our SNS and SSS synthetics, and transformed it into a soft, modern, drop-formed classic that will outfish the original feather wing. Field Notes

This is a fly-tying pattern pack for building the Classic The Childers pattern, not a finished fishing lure. It is meant for anglers who want to tie or customize flies for colored water and sunny conditions where translucent, bright materials help the fly show up. The included materials suggest use for salmon/steelhead-style fly tying and tube-fly assembly.

Pros

  • Complete material pack for tying the pattern
  • Includes a wide range of synthetic and natural tying materials
  • Designed for colored water and bright-light visibility

Cons

  • Not a finished fly
  • Requires fly-tying skill and tools
  • Pattern-specific materials may be less versatile than general-purpose supplies
