THE PATTERN The dirty yellow fly has gained more and more popularity. The same goes for the long winged Samurai style of fly. The Lion Samurai is a dirty yellow fast swimmer with a brownish copper sparkling discrete front half. It’s a superb fly for that fast swing in a slightly tinted river on a sunny day. We fish them thin in almost all sizes, perhaps the medium 6-8 cm Lion coloured Samurai is our favourite. It’s a good option to the Nasty Banana especially if you are brave and allows that big downstream belly to make it fish faster and faster...
