A beaded mayfly nymph is meant to imitate an aquatic insect nymph drifting near the bottom or in the water column. Fish it dead-drifted under a fly line or indicator in riffles, runs, and seams where trout are feeding subsurface.

Pros

  • Not ideal when fish are keyed to surface insects
