Orvis FF101: Learn to Fly Fish for Free at Orvis Stockbridge

This 60-90 minute class is delivered without charge at our flagship Stockbridge Store most weekends and delivers store-based learning and fly line casting outside. FF101 classes are aimed at anyone interested in learning about fly fishing and looking how to get started. After meeting in Orvis Stockbridge store, you'll get to: Discover why fly fishing is enjoyed by today’s generation of fly fishers. Discover where you can fish and what species you can target. Popular flies and how to choose the right ones. Find out what gear you need to start fly fishing. Put together and rig a balanced fly rod outfit. Have a go at casting a fly line outside. Learn about nylon and using tapered leaders. Participate in a knot tying session. Learn about local fly fishing opportunities. Booking is highly recommended and is free of charge. All equipment and refreshments are provided. Although there is no age limit, attendees should be able to independently engage in the whole session. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.
