Description

Constructed with premium components and loaded with features, the Omega Alpha Shad Buzzbait is a must-have for anglers who love to pursue big bass with a buzz bait. It puts out a tremendous wake and spitting action, while leaving behind a huge bubble trail - all of which just draw bass to the surface. Its Alpha Blades also allow for an ultra slow retrieve, and with each rotation the blades click together to perfectly mimic the sound of baitfish on the surface. The nose cone in front of the blades also helps deflect grass and other cover from tangling in the blades, and its Z-bend wire construction allows the Alpha Shad to ride deeper in the water for a more natural presentation and higher percentage hook ups. Also featuring hand-tied pro tail skirts that pulsate in the water and act as a trailer, each Omega Alpha Shad Buzzbait comes equipped with a long shank, razor-sharp Gamakatsu hook.

Field Notes

A surface buzzbait for covering water and triggering reaction strikes from bass. Best retrieved just fast enough to keep the blades churning and create a wake and bubble trail, especially around grass and shallow cover. The slow-rolling blade design also makes it useful when fish want a louder, more visible topwater presentation.

Pros

  • Strong surface wake and bubble trail
  • Ultra-slow retrieve capable
  • Grass-deflecting nose cone helps reduce fouling
  • Hand-tied skirt adds bulk and movement

Cons

  • Best only when fish are willing to rise
  • Can be less effective in heavy wind or rough water
  • Single-hook topwater requires solid hookset timing
