THE FLY The black and red fly is a rare combination, one that requires a bit of faith to try. We favour it in humus-coloured rivers and particularly on cloudy days with subdued light. While it’s a flash wing, it remains relatively discreet, often catching fish even when other flies are performing well. We also believe that resident fish have a particular liking for red, with its appeal growing as they approach spawning.
