Used as flash material in fly tying to add shimmer, movement, and visibility to streamers, saltwater flies, and other baitfish patterns. It is typically tied in sparingly as an accent or wing material to imitate baitfish flash and trigger strikes in a variety of light conditions.

  • Versatile for many fly patterns
  • Useful in both freshwater and saltwater tying

Cons

  • Can be too flashy if overused
  • Not a standalone fishing lure
