Description

Introducing the New Monster Grenade by Musky Mayhem Tackle llc. For those that love larger profile baits the Monster Grenade is for you. Just like the Mini and Standard Grenades it is a forward heavy tail bladed spinner that was developed for deep weedlines and open water but performs relatively weedless coming through shallow weeds. The Monster Grenade is 17" long and is built on .062 stainless steel wire. It has 5 skirts, 2-7/0 hooks and two No. 10 blades and an added 3/4 oz weight in the rear for ease of laying out the monster in the cast. The total weight of the Monster Grenade is 6.9 oz and has a fall rate of 1 foot per second. Count it down and retrieve at a moderate pace and it stays in that depth. It's designed to run deeper and stay more in the bite zone. See it in action in the new season of Mayhem's 10000 Casts.

Field Notes

This is a large-profile bucktail spinner built for covering water and triggering reaction strikes from pike and musky. It is designed for deep weedlines and open water, but can still come through shallow weeds relatively well. Count it down to the desired depth and retrieve at a moderate pace to keep it in the strike zone.

Pros

  • Large profile for big fish attraction
  • Works in weeds and open water
  • Heavy enough for long casts and depth control

Cons

  • Bulky and tiring to cast all day
  • Requires heavier tackle
  • Can be too much bait for pressured fish
