Description

The McPhail Bubble Wing Caddis Grannom is the perfect pattern to target Grannom feeders, as well as other small caddis flies. The green foam egg sack represents the grannom returning to the river to lay, whilst the horns and CDC Bubble wing gives a great outline on the surface. Designed by Fulling Mill fly designer, Davie McPhail.

Field Notes

This is a dry fly pattern designed to imitate a caddis/grannom on the surface. Fish it to rising trout when insects are hatching, especially on calm seams, riffles, and edges where trout are keying on adults. A dead-drift presentation is the primary approach, with a light twitch only if needed to suggest a natural struggling insect.
