" - Dave Wiltshire, May 2015 The barbless Mayfly Full Lifecycle Selection is a selection of the flies to imitate the lifecycle of the Mayfly (emerger, stillborn, dun & spinner). I fished with these flies in May/June of the last few seasons to test them out, and was amazed at the results. We supply two of each fly in two sizes (10's & 12's), in total there are 16 flies supplied in our eco-friendly packaging. All of these flies are hand-tied using barbless hooks, in sizes 10 and 12, using quality materials. Descriptions and photos of the flies can be found below: Mayfly Nymph - A Mayfly nymph imitation in dark olive and weighted with a bead to help this large fly sink. These nymphs are tied on long-shank barbless hooks and correspond to the actual size of a Mayfly nymph. This selection contains two each of sizes 12 & 14. CdC Mayfly Dun - This fly sits in the surface film of the water and imitates the emerging mayfly. These are best tied with CdC as this sits above the surface film and can be easily identified. A great pattern for those early hatches. This selection contains two each of sizes 10 & 12. Loopwing Mayfly - The most effective mayfly I've ever used. With its looped wing behind the thorax, this fly just needs a little floatant (easily added to the loop) and it will float all day! A great imitation of the Mayfly. This fly also proved to be very effective from mid-May until mid-July. This selection contains two each of sizes 10 & 12. Mayfly Spinner - Once the mayfly has returned to the water to lay its eggs, they die and float on the surface; this is the spinner. The spinner is an easy target for Trout, and they can gorge on them in the early evenings. Just treat the wing and thorax with some floatant and have one of the best experiences fly fishing can provide. This selection contains two each of sizes 10 & 12.
