Description

Following the impressive results by the Japanese-made Maria Rapidos, we were quick to also nab their smartly finished and innovative looking Duck dive poppers! Other features: The lures relatively small, concave face still generates plenty of noisy water disturbance when required, ringing the dinner gong, as well as enabling effortless retrievals and reducing the chance of surface bust-outs. The streamlined shape has a magnetic ball-bearing weighting system that migrates to the rear when cast, creating even greater distances. It returns to the central position during retrieval to enable the best possible action and provides an audible rattle, too!. A great range of effective colours that includes both natural and hyper-triggers (colour combos known to excite predators into biting). Tough, high-impact-plastic construction with through wiring for maximum strength. Model sizes: 190 and 230mm 230 colours: B01H; B06H; B08H; B28C; B37H; B42H. 190 colours: D08H; D01H; D06H; B35H; B13H; B37H; B42H; B28C. On-the-water tips: The Duckdives smallish face means very little force is required to create a decent spurt of water with a nice bubble trail behind. Just smooth, firm sweeps of the rod will often do the job; change to smaller, sharper stabs if kingfish are attracted by the lures commotion but arent actually striking. (Failing all else, simply stop winding for a few seconds; its amazing how often that works!) Try making the lures splashes more random and erratic using a quick succession of hard and soft rod stabs to imitate small work-up activity - super effective! Experiment with hook sizes and configurations, as this affects how the lure behaves. Check the lure box for the manufacturers recommended treble sizes (its the only part most of us can read!). Prefer in-line singles? Go one or two sizes bigger, depending on how bulky or heavy the brand is. Squash all the hook barbs to avoid unnecessary injury to the fish and yourself while unhooking, and to make the process quicker. The hooks will stay in if you keep the pressure on during the fight.
