Finsgrinslure

Field Notes

A glide bait is best worked with long casts and deliberate rod twitches to make it sweep side-to-side. It shines around open water edges, weedlines, and other areas where pike or musky can track a bait and commit on the pause.

Pros

  • Wide gliding action covers water efficiently
  • Good for triggering reaction strikes
  • Effective for big predators in open-water situations

Cons

  • Requires some cadence and patience to fish well
  • Can be less effective in very heavy cover
