Unlike a traditional bottom bait — and not a wafter or a pop-up — Lightweight Bottom Baits have a small level of buoyancy. This allows the bait to react instantly when a carp feeds, rising effortlessly into the fish’s mouth rather than needing to be aggressively sucked in, giving you an advantage when fishing over a bed of boilies. Because the bait is just buoyant enough, it is often the first item picked up when carp feed over boilies, making it ideal for pressured fish, cautious feeding situations, or when you want to maximise bite conversion without drastically changing your rig presentation.
