Light Cahill Parachute

How do you improve upon a dry fly created over 100 years ago? Add a parachute to improve its ability to ride high in the water! There are few flies that can handle heavy riffles better than this one, and it can be used on all trout waters, from small brook trout streams to sprawling western tailwaters. When PMDs are actively hatching, anglers everywhere are well-served to have plenty of these in their box! Few things can be more frustrating than watching trout feed in riffles and knowing our flies will sink long before ever they reach the fish. That problem is alleviated by using the parachute version of the Light Cahill, since that strong post will keep the fly afloat and high on the water. Because of this, anglers should consider using another dry fly or small nymph trailing behind since two flies are usually better than one and the Parachute Cahill can handle the added weight!
