Description

Crimping is a great way to achieve neat, strong connections, especially when you are using stiffer and/or thicker materials which can be hard to knot effectively – plus it allows you to get the length of your hooklink correct every time, which is especially useful for chod rigs. Our Krimp Tools come in two sizes, a large and a mini version. Both are purposely designed for use with the three sizes of Krimp that we sell – the jaws are marked with XS, S and L to denote the slot that should be used for each size. As long as the Krimps are matched to an appropriate diameter of hook link material, our Krimp Tools will allow you to create the perfect connection every time. They are made from mild steel with rubberised handles to allow you to get a good grip and ensure the right amount of pressure is applied to a Krimp, plus they feature a line cutter in the jaws which is useful when constructing rigs. The Mini Krimp Tool is very compact so will easily fit into your Tackle Box or similar but still allows you to get enough leverage to form the perfect crimped connection every time. The Larger version is for those that prefer something a bit more visual and easier to hold. Both are very robust and will enable you to krimp efficiently time and time again. All our Krimps are sold separately and come in sizes 0.5, 0.6 and 0.7mm which are compatible with all versions of our Boom Hooklink material. Chod Krimps are available in 0.5 and 0.6mm and are compatible with our Mouth Trap Hooklink.

Field Notes

Use the Krimp Tool to crimp hooklink crimps for neat, strong connections—especially when working with stiffer/thicker hooklink materials. Match the tool jaw slot (XS/S/L) to the correct crimp size, then apply firm pressure and use the built-in line cutter to trim.

Pros

  • Marked jaw slots (XS/S/L) for correct crimp sizing
  • Rubberised handles for grip and consistent pressure
  • Built-in line cutter in the jaws
  • Mini version is compact for tackle boxes

Cons

  • Requires using compatible crimps/hooklink diameters to work correctly
  • Not a substitute for other rig components (crimps sold separately)
