Description

The "Jointed Claw Ratchet 184" is a high-wave, S-shaped big bait equipped with a [ROM damper] inherited from the "Shift 184" and a newly developed big tail [ROM tail]. It is a next-generation jointed claw that specializes not only in slow S-shaped swimming and digi-winding action, but also in high-appeal "S-shaped ripping action" that violently shakes the body in ultra-high-speed retrieves and hard jerks. 7" 2.5oz. The Rom Damper is located between the second and third segments of the bait. It is easily removable by removing two small phillips head screws. With the damper removed you can get an even more traditional swimbait action, with the damper in place it acts more like a traditional two piece glide but still allows you to burn it fast in either mode. NOTE: Each bait is hand painted in the order they are received. I make every effort to ship the baits within 3 days of receiving the order, however during the busy season it can take up to 5 to 8 business days to ship the baits. In most cases they do ship within 3 days, I never want to make anyone wait but I do need to maintain quality so it can take time sometimes. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or need something in a hurry.

Field Notes

This is a big jointed glide-style bait designed for slow S-shaped swimming, fast burns, and hard ripping retrieves. Use it around open-water baitfish situations, points, and suspended bass when you want a large profile and strong visual appeal. The removable damper lets you tune it from a more traditional glide to a more swimbait-like action.

Pros

  • Large 7-inch profile for big bass
  • Versatile action with damper installed or removed
  • Can be burned fast or worked slowly

Cons

  • 2.5 oz size requires heavy tackle
  • Big bait can be intimidating for beginners
  • Likely less practical in heavy vegetation or tight cover
