Field Notes

This is a vertical slow-pitch/long-fall style offshore jig designed for middle to deep water. Use it for speed jigging or slow jigging when fish are holding deep, then let it flutter on slack line to imitate a wounded baitfish. It is especially suited to structure, wrecks, and open-water pelagic situations.

Pros

  • Hybrid design works for both speed jigging and slow jigging
  • Fast falling with low pull resistance
  • Fluttering fall can trigger reaction bites
  • Beginner-friendly for deep jigging

Cons

  • Heavy weights require stout tackle
  • Best use is specialized offshore jigging rather than general casting
