Hareline Dubbin

Field Notes

These are fly-fishing strike indicators used to suspend nymphs or other subsurface flies and help detect subtle takes. They are useful in moving water or stillwater when you need to control depth and watch for small line movements. Adjust placement above the fly to match depth and current speed.

Pros

  • Improves strike detection on subtle takes
  • Helps control nymph depth
  • Easy to rig and adjust

Cons

  • Can reduce casting distance
  • May spook fish in very clear, shallow water
