Gambler Lures

Field Notes

This is a soft shrimp-style bait for inshore saltwater fishing. It’s best worked around flats, marsh edges, docks, and other shallow cover where redfish, snook, and speckled trout feed on shrimp. Fish it on a jig head or light rig with a steady swim, hop, or subtle twitching retrieve.

Pros

  • Realistic shrimp profile
  • Good for finesse presentations
  • Useful for multiple inshore species

Cons

  • Soft bait will tear with repeated strikes
  • Best performance usually requires a jig head or rig
