Description

Jack Eye Switch 300g (10.5 oz) – Offshore A new concept of all-around vertical jig with sliding fall action, great for jerking in a variety of speeds depending on activity of the fish. The semi-center balanced toward the head and asymmetric body creates a wobble and vibration fish cannot resist. An angler may choose to work the jig on a fast pitch jerk to create a darting/sliding action or a slow pitch jerk to move the jig to a horizontal position, which allows the jig to swing more side to side mimicking dying bait fish. Targeted fish: Red Snapper, Grouper, Amberjack, Rockfish, Yellowtail, Tuna, King Mackerel, Wahoo, Dolphin, Bonita, etc.

Field Notes

Work the jig with fast-pitch jerks to create a darting/sliding action, or slow-pitch jerks to let it swing more side-to-side like dying baitfish. Use it when targeting offshore structure-holding predators such as snapper, grouper, amberjack, and tuna.

Pros

  • Sliding fall action helps trigger strikes from a variety of speeds
  • Asymmetric body creates wobble and vibration
  • Versatile jerking cadence (fast darting vs slow swinging)

Cons

  • Best results require active jigging technique
  • Offshore heavy jig may be overkill for shallow/nearshore situations
