Use on calm to moderately choppy inshore flats and shorelines where striped bass are feeding near the surface. Cast to visible baitfish or cruising fish, then work with short, sharp twitches and pauses to trigger popping/commotion.

Pros

  • Surface commotion draws in aggressive predators
  • Effective for sight-fishing and feeding-bass situations
  • Works well with twitch-and-pause retrieves

Cons

  • Less effective when fish are not actively feeding at the surface
  • Can be harder to control in very windy conditions
