Field Notes

A classic wet fly for presenting just below the surface or in the upper part of the water column. It is a good choice when trout are feeding on emerging insects or when a subtle drifting presentation is needed in moving water.

  • Works well in a drift or swing presentation

Cons

  • Not ideal for matching a very specific hatch
  • Less effective when fish are focused on larger streamers or dry flies
