Grunter - Yellow Owl

The Grunter fly. Looks strange, but catches fish - in fact, catches loads of fish. We have been requested to have this fly available, so here it is. A great fly to use as an early season searching pattern, also works really well when there are any sort of Sedge on the water. Try this fly in rougher water, the hackle is tied long so the fly sits high on the water and can easily be seen (by both fish and humans!). Tied with a yellow and black segmented body, and two hackles (Partridge & Brown Cock Saddle), all topped off with a CdC feather at the head. Looks odd, but it really works.
