Field Notes

This is a flat-fall, slow-pitch style offshore jig designed to be worked by dropping it to depth, then letting it flutter and wobble on the fall. It excels when fish are holding deep or suspended and you want a lure that stays in the strike zone longer on the descent. Best fished with vertical jigging and free-spool presentations around structure or offshore marks.

Pros

  • Center-balanced fall keeps the jig horizontal and in the strike zone
  • Glow finish can help in deeper or lower-light conditions
  • Versatile rigging with assist or treble hook options

Cons

  • Requires deeper-water vertical presentation to shine
  • Heavier weights can be tiring for repeated jigging
