Use it like a jerk bait, pausing momentarily to entice strikes. Add in a floatation insert for longer hang time and glide distance. A great modification for use in shallow water or fishing over submerged weeds. This set up works well when you need to fish open water or jig deep current. When fishing open water, work the bait with a quick sweep / pause retrieve, fish can often be triggered to bite when the lure is burned back to the boat in the last 20 yards of the cast.
