The Sargasmo is heavily based on the Sargassum Crab, but this design not only looks great, it has some clever features that help it swim perfectly as a swimming crab. Essentially, this is a fleeing crab that is tied straight on (North / South... the hook bend is between the eyes) so that is suits the very popular topwater Sargassum crab craze. Not limited to the Sargassum crab, the Sargasmo can be tied to suit a range of depths and carapaces. The Sargasmo features legs that all face in a direction away from the tow point and arms that extend to indicate a feeling crab This not only looks the part but ensures the fly rides perfectly straight in the water at an speed, preventing twisting or any unnatural look that can make a fish reject a fly. The swim paddles are super thin (only .6mm thick) and offer little resistance to fold under (on a hook point down floater application) just like real swim paddles. The frame has a bigger target point to stack materials like Deerhair or Polypropylene due to the increased tying difficulty of navigating through the legs that results a much more targeted flat area for foam type carapaces.
