Eagle Claw

Field Notes

Use these split shots to add small amounts of weight to a line for fine depth control. They are commonly pinched onto the leader or main line when fishing live bait, worms, or small lures in current or when you need a subtle presentation.

Pros

  • Easy way to fine-tune sink rate
  • Compact and simple to add/remove
  • Useful for many freshwater presentations

Cons

  • Can weaken line if pinched too tightly
  • Not ideal when you need larger weight changes
