Orvis: Quality Clothing, Fly-Fishing Gear & More Since 1856

Field Notes

Use as a dry fly imitation of an Iso mayfly when trout are feeding on the surface. Best presented with a dead-drift in riffles, seams, and pocket water during an active hatch or when fish are keying on larger mayflies.

Pros

  • Strong surface imitation for Iso mayfly hatches
  • Light, natural profile for selective trout
  • Effective for dead-drift presentations

Cons

  • Best only when fish are looking up
  • Can be hard to see in low light or rough water
