Daiwa Certate SW Spinning Reels 2026

The new Certate has finally landed and with more features passed down from the Saltiga series that was updated last year. These reels feature the new ball bearing rollers to support the spool oscillation mechanism, making it smoother and more robust. The gear size has grown significantly to match the Saltiga, giving these reels one of the biggest gears on any spinning reel ever released. And it's a good thing because these are a go-to popping reel for tuna whether you're fishing here in California or flying abroad. I won't call these budget reels, since they're about as high end as it gets but they are positioned a few hundred dollars below the Saltiga while still carrying on most of the features. I personally have a Certate and have loved fishing it, the loud drag clicker, reliable drag and smooth operation has been second to none. Daiwa also released more gear ratio options for some of the sizes giving you appropriate ratios for popping, stickbaits and even jigging.
