Football heads are bottom-contact jig heads designed to keep soft plastics upright and stable on rock, gravel, and other hard bottoms. They are commonly used for dragging, hopping, or slow crawling a bait along the bottom for bass.

Pros

  • Paint-free hook eye for easier rigging
  • Rock-hard finish for durability

Cons

  • Not ideal for vegetation or heavy cover
  • Requires a soft plastic trailer to fish effectively
