Football heads are best for dragging and hopping along hard bottoms like rock, gravel, and ledges. They pair well with craws, worms, and other soft plastics when you want bottom contact and a more natural presentation.

Cons

  • Not ideal for heavy vegetation
  • More specialized for bottom presentations than open-water reaction fishing
