Use during blue-winged olive hatches when trout are feeding on adult mayflies at the surface. It is best presented with a delicate dead-drift in calm to lightly riffled water, especially when fish are selective.

Pros

  • Excellent blue-winged olive imitation
  • Floats well for surface presentations
  • Good choice for selective trout

Cons

  • Can be too subtle in dirty water
  • Less effective when no hatch is present
