Description

If you have one Parachute mayfly in your box, it should be the Parachute Adams…but if you have two, the second should be the Brindle 'chute. This fly is great for March Brown adults and Hecuba adults as well. But since it has Olive tones, it can work during a Green Drake hatch. The Brindle coloration uses orange, tan, gold, brown and olive making this an overall "buggy" representation.

Field Notes

A parachute-style dry fly for matching mayfly hatches on trout water. Fish it as a dead-drift presentation in riffles, seams, and pocket water when adults are on the surface. The tan, olive, and brown tones make it a good general mayfly imitation when exact hatch matching is less important.

Pros

  • Excellent mayfly imitation for multiple hatch situations
  • High-visibility parachute post helps tracking on the water
  • Versatile buggy coloration

Cons

  • Dry fly only, so it is less effective once fish are feeding below the surface
  • May require precise drift and floatant maintenance
