Description

These specialist Trout & Grayling nymphs are all tied on Size 16 Hends BL124 Barbless Jig hooks . The Biot Nymph is a classic fly pattern that mimics aquatic insect larvae and is known for its effectiveness in fooling even the wariest fish. The use of goose biots for the body colour (blue dun) creates a realistic and natural appearance, resembling the segmented body of a nymph. The combination of Hends BL124 in size 16 and the 3.3mm tungsten bead adds weight to the fly, allowing it to sink quickly to the desired depth in the water column. The specialist hook used is the Hends BL124 Barbless Jig hook: Hook Size: 16 Hook Length: 9.50mm Hook Gape: 5.00mm Nymph Weight: 0.25g Hook Finish: Black Nickel Veevus threads are once again utilised to securely tie the materials together and create a durable fly that can withstand numerous casts and fish strikes. The inclusion of Hare's mask adds a touch of natural rabbit fur dubbing to the fly, providing both texture and a lifelike appearance to attract fish. The hot spots in Fluoro Pink , Fluoro Orange , Fluoro Green and Ice White serve as attractors, mimicking the natural colours found on nymphs and drawing the attention of fish in the water. These bright and fluorescent colours are particularly effective in murky or dimly lit conditions, making the fly more visible to fish and increasing the chances of a successful strike. Overall, these Biot Nymphs tied with AHREX Hooks, Goose Biots, Veevus Threads, Hares Mask and 3.3mm Tungsten Beads, along with the hot-spot colours creates a well-rounded and visually appealing fly pattern that is sure to entice fish and improve the angler's chances. Whether fishing in rivers, streams, or lakes, this fly is a versatile and reliable option for anglers looking to target Trout or Grayling. Late-season nymph fishing is more about finding the fish, so it's important to keep on the move and only pass your nymphs through a lane a couple of times (see below) - if there's a fish there they will usually take it straight away. Top Tip: if you are fishing in coloured water, use the Fluoro Green or Fluoro Orange Biot Nymph. All orders from Barbless Flies are shipped FREE of charge to anywhere within the UK.
