Field Notes

A soft eel-style bait for inshore saltwater presentations when fish are feeding on slender baitfish or eels. Best worked with a steady retrieve, twitching, or slow swimming presentation around current seams, channels, and structure.

Pros

  • Long, slender profile matches eel and baitfish forage
  • Versatile for casting and swimming retrieves
  • Useful around current and structure

Cons

  • Large size may be too much for smaller inshore fish
  • Soft body can be torn by toothy fish

Work equally well on SPJ as a BKK Titan swimbait hook and fills a gap in the soft plastics market. They are not overly bulky or heavy so they cast well, but at the same time the profile is wide enough to provide a nice glide and swim. The durability is better than expected when compared to some other manufacturers.

My favorite bait when big bass are around. One bait usually lasts for a good amount of fish. Better than similar products on the market. Pairs perfect with the SPJ long shank jig heads

These eels are durable, lasting a lot longer than some other soft plastics. Their movement in the water is unparalleled, mimicking live eels to a T. I highly recommend these eels if you’re trying to catch big fish. They work. I personally like the white and blurple. They seem to produce best size fish.
