This is a fly streamer pattern designed to imitate a small baitfish, insect, or other prey item with lots of movement. Fish it with short strips, pauses, or a swing presentation in moving water, or cast and retrieve it around cover when fish are keyed on larger meals.

Pros

  • Highly mobile profile with lots of trigger points
  • Works as a general attractor streamer
  • Can be fished in a variety of water types and retrieves

Cons

  • Exact sink rate and depth depend on the fly line and leader
  • May be too bulky for very small trout
