Description

We have been able to duplicate the old school flat cut rubber from the eighties and nineties. This rubber skirt material is where it all started with the craze of custom hand tied jigs. In the nineties the company folded and the machinery was destroyed. This material has been sought after ever since and when found was very expensive. For over 38 years I have hand tied all my jigs with this incredible material. Vinyl skirts simply do not have the action in the water this material does and vinyl skirts fall apart very easily. In 2016 Bass Pro. Edwin Evers won the Bass Master Classic on a jig he and I designed together the E Series Finesse jig. During many interviews and videos Edwin stated a major factor in his win was my jig but more important the old school flat cut rubber I used in the making of that jig. This product has the same action and performs the same way it did almost three decades ago. We have it in fine and medium grade.

Field Notes

This is skirt material for tying custom bass jigs, not a finished lure. Use it when building or replacing jig skirts to get the old-school flat rubber action that moves well in the water and holds up better than vinyl. It is especially useful for anglers who hand-tie jigs and want a classic profile and flare.

Pros

  • Classic flat-rubber action
  • Good for custom hand-tied jig skirts
  • More durable than vinyl skirts

Cons

  • Not a finished fishing lure
  • Requires jig-building or skirt-tying use
