Field Notes

Use for tog/blackfish (sheepshead) jigging by dropping the jig down and letting it reach the fish. Place crab on the hook, then set the hook when you feel the tug. Best when fish are holding on structure or you can target a pile of fish.

I won’t pretend to know why these work so well, but they catch fish better than anything else I’ve used. They hold bottom very well, stand up to being bounced in the rocks, and the hooks are strong enough to muscle big blackfish off the bottom.

The best Blackfish jig ever!!!! Shallow water early fall nails them everytime!!!!!! Easy to bait, holds the bait perfectly of the rocks. Tap, Tap, feel the fish and hook em! Many keepers have fallen to this jig tipped with whole or half a greenie!!
