Slow-Fall Weedless Walleye Jig Price Information 1/16 oz 4 pack $6.60 1/16 oz 6 pack 1 each color (Variety Pack) $9.90 1/16 oz 24 pack $39.10 WARNING : California’s Proposition 65 Here is the first truly weedless jig that allows fisherman to catch walleyes where they spend most of their time-in the weeds and wood. Designed and tested by one the top northwoods and Bay de Noc guides, Capt. Darrell Mittlesteadt, this jig is proving more effective at catching walleyes in heavy cover than any other jig on the market. No more breaking-off jigs and disturbing the cover where the walleye lives. The body design and balance causes the jig to slowly glide into the fish zone rather than fall straight like conventional bait jigs. The light fiber weedguard is stiff enough to allow the jig to come through heavy cover, but soft enough for an effective hook-set. Tip this jig with a minnow, crawler or leech and it is a deadly combination of those elusive “eyes”. Also great for Smallmouth Bass and Crappie with a 4 in. grub.

Field Notes

Use this weedless walleye jig in heavy vegetation and wood where conventional jigs snag or spook fish. Cast and let it slowly glide/fall into the fish zone, then use a controlled lift or subtle jigging to keep it in contact with the strike window. Tip with a minnow, crawler, or leech for best walleye results.

Pros

  • Weedless design for fishing heavy cover without snagging
  • Slow-fall/glide action that drops into the fish zone
  • Light fiber weedguard balances stiffness for penetration with softness for hook-set
  • Works for walleye and can also target smallmouth bass and crappie

Cons

  • Requires a soft bait tip (minnow/crawler/leech) for peak effectiveness
  • Light weight may be less effective in strong current or deep water unless conditions allow a slow fall
